Triumph Herald 13/60 Convertible
Triumph Herald 13/60 Convertible
This Triumph Herald 13/60 Convertible was a previous restoration by Simon prior to Fostering Classics being formed, but it was completed to the same high standard.
A genuine 3 owner Triumph Herald with low mileage. It was fundamentally a great car, but the owner lived on the coast in Aberdeen without a garage. The harsh Scottish weather was quickly deteriorating the bodywork, so the owner decided to sell. The first job I had to do after the car arrived on the delivery truck was to drain the footwells and boot, which were literally full of water!
The car required a detailed body restoration and replacement carpets. The chassis, mechanicals and trim were all good, just in need of a full service.
Once the restoration was complete, a brilliant, characterful car emerged. Even with only 60bhp (13/60 stands for 1.3 litre / 60 Bhp), it was great fun to drive, if only my 6’5” frame would fit behind the wheel!
This was a nostalgic purchase, as my father owned a Triumph Herald when I was very young and it is probably the first memory of any car that I can recall.
