Jaguar mk2 3.4
JAGUAR Mk2 3.4
This 1961 car has incredibly only ever had one registered owner, a Mr Peter Sutherland, who bought the car new and travelled the 79,000 miles that the car has completed. It underwent a restoration prior to arriving at Fostering Classics, but the quality of the restoration was not up to our standard, so it has been started again.
The car was fully stripped of all fittings prior to the body shell being blasted back to bare metal. This revealed the extent of the remedial action and detailed preparation required before the car could be painted.
During the restoration, we replaced many worn parts, including the whole wiring harness and restore the remainder, such as the wood interior. Many of the mechanical parts have already been restored during the previous restoration, so these were carefully checked prior to being refitted to the car.
The car was brought back to factory condition and finished in the original opalescent gunmetal grey with red leather interior. Arguably, this is the best colour combination for Jaguars of this period.
