We look after a number of Customer series 3 cars, all of which are fitted with the glorious 5.3 litre V12 Jaguar engine and either the 3-speed automatic borg warner transmission or the 4 (or 5-speed conversion) manual transmission. Either transmission work well mated to the smooth power and torque delivery of the wonderful sounding engine.

We have become very familiar with the V12 engine, as it continued to be used many years after the e-type production ceased in models such as the XJ12 and XJS. It is a relatively compact unit, which Jaguar developed in the 1960s for use in the Le Mans spec XJ13 (see our other project for details).
